Jerry is "Of Counsel" to VanOrmer & Stephenson, PC. He tries criminal and civil cases in federal and state courts and also assists clients with wills, trusts, estates, and business formation. His entire career has been involved, in one way or another, with the art of communication. While in High School he was a DJ and had his own radio show on WFAH, Alliance, Ohio, and sold and wrote all of the on-air advertising. He graduated from John Carroll University in 1962, with a major in History and minors in Political Science and Philosophy. He was commissioned a Lieutenant in the U. S. Army and served in the gth Infantry Division. Although not a lawyer, he successfully defended and prosecuted twenty-four Special Courts-Martial. Following his service, he worked his way through law school as a Salesman and Sales Manager for The East Ohio Gas Company. He received his JD degree in 1970 from the University of Akron, College of Law and was designated as an "Honor Law Graduate" by the Attorney General of the United States. He was appointed by the Nixon Administration as a Trial Attorney in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. He was lead attorney in over twenty

criminal and civil antitrust cases, in all of which the United States was victorious. He also served on the "Organized Crime Task Force" and was a contributing author to the "Antitrust Division Grand Jurv Manual".

In 1993, wishing to implement corporate management skills learned at Armstrong, he became President and CEO of Hans Christian Yachts America, Inc., The yachts were manufactured in Thailand and the United States and sold throughout the Western Hemisphere. He successfully increased sales from zero to three million dollars annually and then sold the company to Hans Christian Europe.

Following his time at the helm of Hans Christian, he returned to the practice of law with

Stevens & Lee, Nettleton & Finefrock, PC, and Ranck & Ranck, PC. Throughout his

legal career he has always been a trial attorney, having litigated in the Supreme Courts of two states, the appellate courts of three U.S. Circuits and two states, the trial courts often US Districts and four states, along with various foreign, federal, and state administrative agenctes.

Jerry is active in his church, is a Past Exalted Ruler of Lancaster Lodge #134 B.P.0. Elks, and has been a local political campaign manager. He has been married to Michaeleen for 50 years; they have four daughters and five grandchildren.
